After John Turturro, Kathryn Bigelow, Emir Kusturica, John Landis, Martin Scorsese, Roman Polanski, Ermanno Olmi, Tullio Pinelli, Sidney Lumet, and more recently Paolo Sorrentino and Terry Gilliam, it was Alfonso Cuarón who received the 2025 award.
