On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the release of La strada (1954), FM – Fellini Museum Rimini and the Department of the Arts – University of Bologna in collaboration with Cineteca Comunale di Rimini, La Settima Arte – Cinema and Industry, CFC (Culture, Fashion, Communication International Research Centre) are organising a study day in Rimini on 2 and 3 May 2024. La strada has a special place in Fellini’s filmography both for its international success (with the first of Fellini’s five Oscars) and for the unique characteristics of its structure, narrative and representation of Italy. For this reason, the curators consider a retrospective study of Fellini’s masterpiece more than topical, even in the context of a critical literature that is now so rich. And they propose to offer a series of in-depth studies capable of soliciting Fellini studies in the most fruitful directions that have emerged in recent years, starting from the new Fellini research strands.
A special call therefore for researchers, professors and film scholars, who are invited to send in their proposals by 31 January.
